Yellow-white hue. Pretty aromas of butterscotch accompany biscuit and light mineral scents. With air, vanilla accents sweeten the bouquet. Very complex with a syrupy texture that showcases buttery bread, oaky tannins and an excellent acid balance. Nice finesse on a lingering close with a great backing of mineral- and citrus-laced acidity. One of the best Chardonnays I have tasted from Argentina. $35

Dense, inky-black hue. Fruity berry and brown sugar scents with heady chocolate and espresso aromas. Rich and chewy on entry with loads of concentrated black fruit and brown sugar that frame oak influenced tannins. Tart, nutty notes on coating close with cedar plank accents. (90% malbec/10% petit verdot) $38

Dense blackish-purple robe. Pretty scents of spice and blackberry with hints of orange peel and graphite. Great balance on a juicy entry with rich red and black fruit, and a nice integration of focused oak influences. Tart oak and cedar box impressions with a touch of powered chocolate. The bouchet (cabernet franc) adds a nice sparkle to the lingering close. (80% cabernet sauvignon / 20% bouchet) $38

Dense purple hue; very viscous. Heady bouquet of espresso, dark chocolate and evergreen. Rich entry with bright berry fruit and continued chocolate accents that demonstrate great balance and structure. Tart strawberry and intoxicating oak-laced tannins on a long, dusty finish. Icono is this long-established Argentine producer's inaugural entry into the ultra-luxe category. (54% malbec/46% cabernet sauvignon) $125
